The Resurgence of CVG: Remaking a Legacy Passenger Hub into The Future Air Cargo Port and Beyond
At the height of COVID, while other airports were struggling, CVG’s air cargo was growing. According to Airports Council International (ACI), CVG topped the list as the fastest growing airport in terms of cargo traffic over the last decade (2008-2018), with a 41% increase. Overall, CVG is ranked #7 in North America and #17 internationally in air cargo tonnage handled as of 2022. In 2013, CVG landed weight was 51% passengers and 49% cargo. But by 2019, the tables turned as CVG experienced a 10-plus percentage change in landed weight to 41% passengers and 59% cargo. The conference will be a great opportunity for CVG’s Chief Innovation Officer to share the airport’s story and, more importantly, CVG’s future plans, especially the use of its campus for technological investments and triumphs, for remaining ahead of the curve as disruption leaders!

Breakout Session 1B – The Intersection of Freight Data and Civil Infrastructure
This session will focus on freight data and how it can be leveraged to better manage civil infrastructure. First, Florida’s Freight Operations Exchange (FOX) system will be discussed, demonstrating the value of data collection and integration. Next, a discussion of transportation network resiliency will examine ways that strategic collaborations between stakeholders can yield more reliable infrastructure. Finally, a study of connected and electric vehicles in Florida will be presented including their impact on freight mobility.

Tuesday Luncheon Riverside Chat: Freight and the Brent Spence Bridge
This moderated conversation with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Secretary, Jim Gray and Ohio Department of Transportation Director, Jack Marchbanks will share the regional and national importance of the Brent Spence Bridge on freight and how the $1.6 billion federal funded project will further this bi-state partnership as a template for large freight transportation infrastructure projects of the future.

The MAASTO Truck Parking Information Management System (TPIMS) and the Texas A&M Transportation Institute/Mid America Freight Coalition technology test are reviewed. The session concludes with a facilitated discussion on truck parking opportunities related to alternate fueling and automation.

This session will highlight ITTS efforts.
